The ex-tropical cyclone Fantala is re-developing somewhat to the south-east of Kenya to a tropical depression. On its present track it may reach the Mombasa region overnight with some showers. The normal showers and the odd thundershower still developing in the afternoon and evenings over the western parts of the country.
I have been a bit wrong where the storms will develop over Gauteng, most of the cloud and storms missed JHB but from Centurion northwards it rained reasonable and I won’t need to water the garden tomorrow… Up to 14 mm has fallen just to the north-west of Marble Hall and there were a few spots with rain over northern KZN but that was not a lot. This part of KZN remain under severe water shortages and they will need help, either from a very good rain system or help from the rest of the country, not there is a lot of water to go around…. It is still mostly overcast and cool over KZN with temperatures in some places over the Midlands already below 15 C, for them that is cold. The cold fronts at the Cape is really got a battle on their hands to reach Cape town in full force, the high over the interior just push them to the south pf the Cape and only the top part of the tail of the cold front brushes the southern parts, this is not good news for the Cape. Yes, there is a well- defined cold front showing up later in the week, but one cold a week or two is not making them safe regarding water. Take care. For those of us that did get rain, it is bonus rain and we must remember to say thank you…..
